First, let me say I don’t believe in conspiracies for the most part. I believe nine time out of ten, what you see is what you get. But I have been formulating some ideas lately on how and why this presidential election has gotten to be what it is.

I believe that John McCain is our Republican candidate because the GOP wanted a liberal republican that they could throw to the wolves. I have often wondered why the most promising of GOP candidates all simultaneously pulled out of the primary. Especially since at the time, it didn’t appear that John McCain would even come close to winning the nomination. I believe that the GOP knew that with President Bush’s dismal approval ratings, this nation would not, no matter who the candidate was, elect a Republican as our next President. That being the case, let’s give the American people a candidate that has been a thorn in our side for years, a Republican who is much too liberal for the rest of us. After this, hopefully he will go away. Then, after the country has had four years of screw ups by the Democrats, they will have a free ride in the next election. How do they know there will be four years of screw ups? Because the American people are probably going elect someone who doesn’t have a military clue, Barack Obama. I believe the GOP knows that the screw-ups are coming and they are just going to bide their time for the next four years and wait and watch for the self destruction to occur. It’s inevitable. Not to mention that troublesome John McCain is the sacrificial lamb in this whole mess and they can be rid of him once and for all.

I hope I’m wrong and  that the next four years will be all lollipops and ice cream for everyone under the Democratic reign but somehow, after watching presidents come and go for nearly half a century I don’t quite believe that.  I hope my husband will still have a job after the government starts taxing the crap out of the corporation he works for, that my son will have a job waiting for him when he graduates college in three years, that all the terrorists that hate us have gone away and everybody in the entire world loves my good old U. S. of A., that there is oil aplenty at $50.00 a barrel and all my mutual funds and stocks are skyrocketing to lovely new heights.  If so, the drinks are on me.

Yes, I may be wrong about it all, but I’m not counting on it.
